A number of Valley arts organizations are getting a little help with their rent this season from Mesa Arts Center.
Ballet Etudes, Class 6 Theatre, East Valley Children’s Theatre, Mesa Encore Theatre, Phoenix Opera, Phoenix Symphony Association (The Phoenix Symphony), Salt River Brass, Silambam Phoenix, Southwest Shakespeare Company, Symphony of the Southwest (Youth Division), Tempe Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Theatre League, Inc. are recipients of 2012-13 Creative Economy Fund grants.
The grants, or rental fee subsidies, enable nonprofits to use MAC theaters and other spaces for concerts, theater productions, workshops and events. The program is part of a larger initiative to increase the number and variety of offerings at MAC and in downtown Mesa, and to build an environment of creativity and discovery in the downtown district.
