A new opera house is under construction at 1636 N. Central Ave. for Arizona Opera.
The facility, at the northwest corner of Central Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix, will be completed early in 2013. It will encompass a permanent black box performance venue for the company, as well an outdoor public pavilion, rehearsal space, costume shop and education atrium.
In the meantime, Arizona Opera performances in Phoenix will continue at Symphony Hall, 75 N. Second St.. Arizona Opera will also be putting on “Opera Up Close,” a concert series at the Musical Instrument Museum, 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix.
