Every four years Americans have the privilege to pick a new president and change the course of a nation. But it’s not often American kids can go to a rock concert and learn about all 44 presidencies.

Tempe’s Childsplay Theatre offers the chance to do that with the national tour of “Rock the Presidents”, opening Saturday at Tempe Center for the Arts. The three-character play interweaves factoids about each president into a series of 24 musical numbers.

It premiered last year with great success and will be performed in 35 cities across America after its two week run in Tempe. Childsplay recommends the production for children 7 and older.

DETAILS >> 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8; runs through Sept. 23. Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway. $12-$25. (480) 350-2822 or http://www.tempe.gov/.
