Honk before you go around a blind curve especial going uphill. Take bear spray (the best you can afford), one of those blinking flashlights that last for hours that can be seen for a mile or more in case your vehicle or you break down....a "charged" cell phone, those shiny, metallic "space" blankets, warm gloves, jacket and hat (you are more than 6000' up...dress for it). Energy bars, gallons of water, toilet paper and baby wipes, bug spray, belt knife and if you know how to use one...a pistol (bad people go looking for good people everywhere these days....check the regulations if you are going into a Wilderness designated area for gun possession). Don't be one of those "tasty" Liberal eco's that become dinner for a bear or mountain lion....[wink]
