I guess the theater where I worked in the '60s was way ahead of its time. We had a "Cry" room in the back of the theater. It was sound-proofed, had a huge viewing window so you could see the screen clearly and had its own speaker system that was turned down. It was also equipped with red low-level lighting and 2 changing tables. Standard theater seats were installed in 2 wide rows for easy access. The whole family could go to the movies, but the baby and mom or dad could go to the "Cry" room if the baby got fussy.

What a great idea. It's about time. Let the parents of those screaming brats put up with each other. I wish all public venues would find some version of this solution.
