Traditional Spanish tapas are small plates of delectable, savory edibles shared along with lively conversation among friends in a casual, convivial setting. PhotoTapas at Gilbert creative space Art Intersection creates a similar environment with photography as the focal point. Here’s how:
• At PhotoTapas Day of Celebrating Photography, you’ll find a full schedule of lectures and demonstrations and a fun session with instant film and a pinhole camera.
• There’s food. In the late afternoon, tapas and sangria will keep the party going, along with a print-sharing event (bring yours, if you have them) in A.I.’s new gallery space, Gallery 4.
• The evening closes with a talk by Dick Arentz in the Eternal Platinum exhibition in the upstairs galleries.
Art Intersection is one of a number of local organizations hosting events in February to celebrate the art of photography. For information, visit PhotoTapas.com.
