This weekend Scottsdale celebrates a 60-year-old tradition — the Parada del Sol Parade.

The event commemorates the town’s cowboy roots and is reportedly one of the largest horse-centered parades in the country. More than 90,000 attendees line the 1.5-mile parade route along Scottsdale Road between Oak Street and Indian School Road to see the horses, bands and western riders saunter past.

Following the 10 a.m. parade, the Trails End block party kicks off at First Avenue between Brown and Scottsdale roads. The block party features an antique car show, a beer garden and live music from Crossroad, the James Park Band, A Boy Named Sioux, and Sour Diesel Trainwreck. There is also a kids zone with pony rides along with a variety of food and drink vendors. The party runs until midnight.
