Do you love dressing up but are years past the acceptable age for trick-or-treating? Then the annual adult Halloween Costume Contest at Talking Stick Resort is the event for you.

Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., an employee judging panel will score the scary, kooky and bizarre entries paraded in front of them, awarding five cash prizes ranging from $500 to $3,000. Winners will be announced at 10:30 p.m., but there are a couple caveats — you must be there in person and you must claim your prize in three minutes or risk losing it to the next best entry.

Resort management can approve or disapprove of any costume during the evening, and while masks are allowed for the contest, participants may not wear them elsewhere on the property.

Contestants must be registered Player Reward Club Members to participate. The free registration is available online or at the casino.

DETAILS >> 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. Talking Stick Resort, 9800 E. Indian Bend Road, Scottsdale. Free entry; 21 or older only. (480) 850-7777 or www.talkingstickresort.com.
