For the first time in years, Tempe’s Mill Avenue will lose the gates, street closures and admission fee for its giant outdoor New Year’s Eve party. All of downtown will be open and free to the public.
A stage just west of Mill on Seventh Street will provide family entertainment 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Children’s activities and a variety of food trucks will be in the area. At 10 p.m., a local band will take the stage.
Fireworks are at 9 p.m. and midnight. Local restaurants and bars will be open.
