Fun and philanthropy come together as Painting with a Twist of Tempe introduces its first Painting with a Purpose event on Saturday, May 10.

During the painting party, scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., you can create your own artistic masterpiece under the direction of an instructor while giving back: 50 percent of the proceeds will go to Lucky Dog Rescue.

Lucky Dog is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal rescue organization whose salvaged dogs stay with foster families and boarding partners while they await permanent homes.

The cost for the event is $45 per person. You may bring your own snacks, drinks or wine. Registration is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.
