Prefer mint juleps to margaritas? Second Story Liquor Bar is giving Valley dwellers a place to observe the weekend’s other big reason — beyond Cinco de Mayo — to celebrate: the Kentucky Derby.

The Old Town Scottsdale bar, located above The Gelato Spot at Third Avenue and Scottsdale Road, will host its first Derby Day Celebration: Whiskey & Bubbles at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3.

The event includes brunch, best hat and best outfit contests, and pool prize betting. Winners will receive gift cards, t-shirts, bourbon bottles, free car service from ExecuCar, or a private chef dinner.

Executive Chef Josh Bracher, formerly of Posh Restaurant and Capital Grille, will serve a menu that ties into the race, paired with traditional Derby day cocktails.

To make a reservation or get more information, call (480) 945-5555 or visit SecondStoryLiquorBar.com.
