Monti’s, the steakhouse operating out of the historic hacienda at Mill Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway, is hosting a contest to name its new patio.

The 2,000-square-foot space, set to open in February 2013, will seat 130 people and feature three fire pits. Located just outside the front doors of Monti’s and facing Rio Salado Parkway, the patio will have its own food and drink menu, plus 12 specialty beers on tap.

The restaurant is asking diners to email their name suggestions (along with their name, address, phone number and email address) to NamethepatioforMontis@gmail.com . The contest goes through Feb.1.

Monti’s will announce the winner in late February, at a grand opening party for the new patio. The winner, who will be notified by mail and email, will receive a complimentary party for 20 to be held in March on the patio.

Monti’s will reserve the rights to all names submitted. For information about the contest or restaurant, call (480) 967-7594 or visit Montis.com.

Sounds like free advertising. Why not name it that?
