Q: When you eat out, where do you like to go?
A: If I’m hungry and want a great, consistent and reasonably priced meal, I go to Bandera (Scottsdale). The grilled salmon with escabeche salad on the side is amazing. If I want something with a little more local flavor, I go to Beckett’s Table (Phoenix). (The) short ribs are great. If I’m in the mood for something decadent, I go to Wildfish (Scottsdale) for their Sea Bass Hong Kong Style. It’s the best fish I’ve ever had.
Q: The best? Wow. What makes it that good?
A: (It’s) so light and flaky, it’s almost hard to tell it’s fish, and the Hong Kong sauce in the bowl has great flavor.
Q: What makes Bandera’s salmon a winner?
A: The salmon at Bandera is cooked perfectly, with a crispy char on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. (And a) great marinade flavor but not overpowering. The escabeche salad is delicious and healthy.
Q: What else do you like about these restaurants?
A: Beckett’s Table has a cozy and hip decor, and Wildfish is located in an area that is conducive to walking around afterwards.
