Chandler’s 24 Carrots Natural Café and Urban Juicery has closed its original location and planted new roots in Tempe at 1701 E. Guadalupe Road.
The restaurant is now open, serving breakfast and lunch. 24 Carrots will open for dinner starting in January 2014.
The new space is larger than the old Chandler location, and co-owner Sadhana Raj says the restaurant has been able to expand its vegan and vegetarian menu substantially.
In addition to creating a new menu each week based on seasonal produce, Raj has added a gluten free and regular bakery to the eatery. Separate ovens and workspaces will stop gluten contamination and allow Raj to sell custom cakes, cupcakes, breads and pastries.
The Tempe location also has a full coffee bar and patio.
Raj came up with the idea for 24 Carrots while studying biochemistry at ASU at age 21. Ten years later, her dream is a reality.
“A meeting of mind, heart and intention, 24 Carrots was born out of need to provide delicious, sustaining food sourced using ecologically sound methods. We work with artisans, purveyors and farmers who share our commitment to excellence,” she says.
