Over Easy, a breakfast chain by acclaimed Valley chef Aaron May that’s popular in Phoenix and North Scottsdale, has made the leap to the East Valley.

A new Over Easy is open at 211 E. Warner Road in Gilbert, in the former NYPD Pizza space next to Zipps Sports Grill.

A second East Valley location, at 6451 E. Southern Ave. in Mesa, is scheduled to open soon.

Over Easy’s namesake dish — “The Over Easy,” with toasted brioche, sauteed spinach, fried egg and jus with bacon and scallions ($9) — was declared Food Network Magazine’s top pick for breakfast in all of Arizona. Its “Waffle Dogs” — fried waffle batter-coated breakfast sausages on sticks (3 for $8.50) — have been featured on the TV network.

Wunnerful. More pretentious psuedo-chef's "creating" meals that people can't afford. Once the novelty wears off, they will go under. Remember Ted's Kitchens? Smitty's??

They would have been smarter to open a Wafflehouse.

Even more insane is spending $8.50 for three sausage links! Even MORE insane is Rita's Kitchen breakfast buffet at $59/head! [scared]

No thanks. I prefer a greasy spoon diner any day. I can't afford $9.50 for breakfast nor do I think spinach is a breakfast food.[sad]
