The doors of four Phoenix homes will open to the public on Sunday as part of the Friends of Mexican Art’s Casitas Encantadas Tour and Mexican Mercado. The self-guided tour leads visitors through meticulously styled homes where Mexican art — especially folk art — adorns nearly every surface. At the mercado, artists will offer painted retablos, hand-embroidered linens, vintage santos and other such works for sale. The tour is a fundraiser for FOMA, a 45-year-old Valley organization that promotes the appreciation of Mexican art in Arizona.

>> The Casitas Encantadas Tour and Mexican Mercado take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at homes throughout Phoenix. Tickets are $35 and are available today by calling (602) 334-6585. More information is available at friendsofmexicanart.org.
