Whether you’re bringing friends, family or a four-legged friend out for Cinco de Mayo, there will be celebrations across the Valley for everyone to enjoy.

Family-friendly

What: Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival 2014, one of the largest cultural festivals in the Southwest, takes over downtown Phoenix for two days of fun. Indulge all your senses while you listen to Grammy Award winners Los Lonely Boys, taste traditional foods and drinks, take a spin on carnival rides, and watch a USA Olympic-style boxing tournament and live Lucha Libre wrestling.

When: 2 p.m. to midnight Saturday, May 3, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, May 4

Where: 200 E. Van Buren St.

Cost: General admission is $5 before 5 p.m. or if purchased in advance online; it’s $10 after 5 p.m. Kids 12 and younger get in free. VIP and All-Access tickets are $25-$50.

Information: (602) 279-4669 or CincoPHX.com

Four-legged fun

What: Chihuahua lovers unite for the Chandler Cinco de Mayo Festival & Chihuahua Races. The ultimate race of Mexico’s famous breed of canine is back. While the highlight of the festival is watching the little fellas run, there will be trophies awarded to the king and queen of the races, best dressed, best temperament and most fashionable dogs. Food and drink are available for purchase.

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 3

Where: Chandler Downtown Public Library Courtyard, 100 E. Commonwealth Ave.

Cost: Free admission

Information: (480) 310-2018 or ChandlerAZ.gov/cinco

Feast with friends

What: Take pride in the spirit of Mexico with an array of delicious food, vibrant decor and a cerveza-carrying donkey at La Hacienda’s Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Marketplace. The plaza of a resort’s Mexican restaurant, La Hacienda, will be turned into a mercado filled with strolling mariachis, a street-style taco cart, churros fried to order, and guacamole and tequila tasting stations. If you’d like to dine in the restaurant as part of the experience, reservations are required.

When: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, May 5

Where: Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, 7575 E. Princess Drive

Cost: Free admission

Information: (480) 585-2694 or ScottsdalePrincess.com

For the framily (friends & family)

What: Bring the friends and family to La Ristra’s Cinco De Mayo Celebration for a fiesta Gilbert has never taken a shot of before. With every $10 entry, receive a drink ticket as well as a La Ristra-branded shot glass to help you enjoy the tequila luge, an ice statue formed into a boot that will serve you tequila shots straight — just imagine an adult water fountain for liquor. While there will be beer pong and corn hole for adults, bring the kids from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for face painting and a blow-up waterslide.

When: 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday, May 3

Where: La Ristra, 638 E. Warner Road, Gilbert

Cost: $10 admission

Information: (480) 545-2880 or LaRistraAZ.com
