In ASU Art Museum’s current video exhibition “By Myself and With My Friends ...,” six artists explore the complexities of human nature by looking at things we have in common with other living creatures.
The seals, parrots, llamas, chickens and ants featured in some of the videos provide inspiration for the museum’s August First Summer Saturday for Families. The free event features kid-friendly animal crafts, animal-inspired dancing with choreographer Elizabeth Johnson and a visit with live animals from the Arizona Animal Welfare League.
Families are free to tour the museum’s galleries, where the video exhibition could spur reflection — or at least an entertaining discussion with little ones — on the things we share with our fuzzy, scaly and feathered friends.
