CHINA CITY BUFFET

Address: 2235 S. Power Road, Mesa

Major violations: 5

Inspector’s comments: Shrimp and chicken at 110 degrees, not held at 130 degrees or above; ribs improperly cooled, temperature was at 82 degrees after three to four hours, not cooled to the proper temperature within the required time; employee failed to wash hands and change gloves when shifting from cleaning to food handling; some plumbing fixtures in the kitchen are inoperable; logs were not being kept on a daily basis.

CIRCLE B DRIVE-THRU

Address: 8045 S. Avenida Del Yaqui, Guadalupe

Major violations: 5

Inspector’s comments: Person in charge was eating a plate of food and drinking a beverage without a lid and straw at the front food service counter; blades on the slicer and the interior top surface of the microwave had heavy buildup of organic debris; chemical test kit was not available to check sanitizer concentration; there was no handle for hot water faucet in three-compartment sink; a can of Raid was in the bathroom; none of the employees have their food service worker cards; manager does not have current food service certification.

IRON CHEF CHINESE RESTAURANT

Address: 23706 S. Power Road, Queen Creek

Major violations: 5

Inspector’s comments: Cooked noodles and won ton cooked one hour ago were not at the proper temperature and they were stacked higher than 4 inches with cover on, stored in a refrigerator, not rapidly cooled using acceptable method; employee washed hands at prep sink without soap; raw chicken and eggs were stored above sauce and cooked food; a container of utensils with debris in it was stored away as clean; fried chicken, barbecue pork and cooked noodle were not date-marked in the walk-in refrigerator; the faucet at hand sink was dripping; wiping cloths were stored on the kitchen counter between uses; a metal container was stored in the hand sink, not accessible to hand-washing.

VILLAGE INN

Address: 2780 E. Germann Road, Chandler

Major violations: 5

Inspector’s comments: Vegetable beef soup was holding at 117-123 degrees in the steam table, water in steam table was just touching the bottom of the pan, not held at proper temperature; mashed potatoes were being cooled in a deep pan in the walk-in cooler at 71 degrees, cooling for more than two hours, not cooled to the proper temperature within the required time; cook washed hands for only 10 seconds after handling raw meat; raw hamburger meat was stored above pancake batter in the bottom of the rep cooler; three containers of pre-cooked sausage were in the bottom of the prep cooler.
