Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are about to release their first studio album in eight years — the perfect excuse to embark on a summer concert tour.

The band will stop May 18 at US Airways Center in Phoenix in support of the new LP, called “Mojo.” Joe Cocker will also perform at the concert, according to a news release from Live Nation.

Tickets are $54.25-$129.75 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster.com, the US Airways Center box office or by phone at (800) 745-3000.

Tickets purchased online will include an MP3 download of every track on the new album, slated for release sometime this spring.

Here’s how it works: Purchase a ticket online, and you’ll receive an e-mail with codes to download “Mojo” tracks “First Flash Of Freedom” and “Good Enough.” (“Good Enough” is now available for streaming at TomPetty.com.) On the album’s release date, you’ll be sent a download of the entire LP.

At the end of the tour, in late August 2010, you’ll also get a bonus selection of live tracks recorded at concerts on the road.

For details, go to TomPetty.com or LiveNation.com.
