There’s music and there’s foot tappin’, chin noddin,’ soul groovin’ music played by three-time Grammy Award-winning blues artist Keb Mo, who performs live Saturday at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale.
You may not recognize his name but you’ve probably heard his music in commercials for the Special Olympics, Chrysler/Jeep, AT&T and Marriott. Keb Mo (formerly Kevin Moore) is a contemporary blues musician known for his distinct blend of pre-disco R&B, American folk, gospel, rock, and of course, blues.
He has appeared on numerous television shows, including “Touched by an Angel,” “The West Wing” and the PBS series “Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues.” He is touring in support of his most recent studio album “The Reflection.”
“I worked on this record for the better part of two years,” Keb Mo writes on his website kebmo.com. “I didn’t want to let it go until I had something that I was proud to share with the public. It’s the culmination of all of my influences throughout my career.”
“The Reflection” includes collaborations with Vince Gill, nouveau–soul artist India.Arie, jazz saxophonist Dave Koz and guitarist David T. Walker.
