Our favorite place to eat Italian food is Vincitorio’s in Tempe. Wow! Mario Vincitorio is no out-of-the-can Italian. He is the real deal. Mario comes to us right from Italy. The food is pure Italian.
The Vincitorio family sees that nothing has changed from the original Italian recipes. The homemade pastas, sausages, sauces, breads and pizzas are a hit. Mario has nailed it.
The wine list is purely Italian and the staff is knowledgeable about the pairings. The ambiance is wonderful and service is, well, fabulous.
The restaurant runs like a clock under the guidance of Mario’s long-time love and partner, Ginger Anderson. Ginger, by the way, created the interior.
They provide outside dining to alleviate the crowd that is always gathering at the door, so make a reservation.
Getting there couldn’t be easier. Head south down McClintock Drive and turn left onto Elliot Road. Keep to the right and it is right there on the right, conveniently near a theater as well.
So check it out. It is one of those places you want to keep to yourself because everyone will want to go, but you know, you just have to share it, because it’s so good.
