Help the kids get hot on the trail of Peter Cottontail with Easter events geared toward families.

Mother Nature’s Farm Spring Social

What: General admission at this agritainment farm includes a hayride, maze, bounce house, carnival games and visits with the farm animals. Extras, available for a small extra charge, include photos by an old tractor with Peter Cottontail, food items and face painting.

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday

Where: Mother Nature’s Farm, 1663 E. Baseline Road, Gilbert

Chandler Family Easter Celebration

What: In addition to Easter egg “scrambles” for kids up to 9 years old, there are information booths, displays, games, photos with the Easter bunny and, at 11:30 a.m., a family Easter basket prize giveaway.

Where: Snedigar Sportsplex, 4500 S. Alma School Road, Chandler

Cost: Free, but some activities have nominal fees.

Apache junction PARKS & REC. easter egg hunt

What: Six egg hunts for six age groups are part of this event, along with an early-bird pancake breakfast that will continue until the food runs out.

When: First egg hunt begins at 9 a.m. Saturday; pancake breakfast starts at 7 a.m.

Where: Prospector Park, 3015 N. Idaho Road, Apache Junction

Cost: Egg hunts are free; breakfast is $3.50 per adult and $1.50 per child.

Tempe Community Easter Egg Hunt

What: More than 6,000 plastic eggs packed with small prizes and a roaming Easter bunny attract loads of kids age 10 and younger to this fourth annual event. Children must be accompanied by a parent and should bring their own bags or baskets to collect eggs. Every child gets a prize.

When: 9 a.m. Saturday

Scrambled egg-stravaganza scavenger hunt

What: Use a map to locate clues left by Rascal the Rabbit along the Goldmine Trail, and receive a prize. Craft activities follow.

When: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday

Where: San Tan Mountain Regional Park, 6533 W. Phillips Road, Queen Creek

Cost: $6 per vehicle park entry fee

Golfland easter egg hunt

What: Keep it on the cheap and simply hunt for eggs for $2 per tot inside this castle-themed amusement park, or add on to the basic egg hunt with packages that include extras like game cards, meal deals and — just in time for weekend temperatures in the high 80s — water slide admission.

When: Egg-hunting sessions for a variety of age groups go on 10:15 a.m. Friday through 2 p.m. Sunday. Select your session of choice online or by phone.

Where: Golfland Sunsplash, 155 W. Hampton Ave., Mesa

Cost: $2 for egg hunt; $5 for egg hunt and $5 game card; $8.99 for egg hunt, mini golf, one slice of pizza and a drink; $13.99 for egg hunt, water slide admission, one slice of pizza and a drink. Buy tickets online or by phone before you show up.

Easter Egg-Citement

What: Slots are still available for 6- to 8-year-olds and children ages 9 and older at Schnepf Farms’ annual Easter event. Kids’ admission includes a photo with Easter bunny, an Easter Egg Hunt, train rides, carousel rides, hay rides, “honey bee” rides, the petting zoo, an Easter cookie and a hot dog lunch.

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; egg hunts begin, by age group, at 11 a.m.

Where: Schnepf Farms, 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road, Queen Creek

Cost: $25 per child with lunch; $20 per child without lunch. Adults are free. Register ahead of time.
