Thirty-five years before Steven Barnett was born, Arthur Bratzel, his great-grandfather, and Melvin Covington, his grandfather, started a Scottsdale business that has stood the test of time.

At 26 years old, Barnett is the fourth generation keeping Scottsdale Plumbing going. With his sister Nicole at the helm as manager, the Saguaro High and Arizona State University graduate helps take care of inventory, ordering and sales for the 61-year-old establishment currently owned by his mother, Linda Barnett, and her brothers, Ed and Michael Covington.

After living for a time in California and Oregon, Steven Barnett returned to Scottsdale to work and earn a degree in computer information systems. He is still drawn to work with computers and helped set up the store computer system.
