Lauren Bacall, Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn, Barbara Stanwyck — they were among Hollywood’s top draws in the 1930s and ’40s, and more than 70 years later we still recognize their indelible names and faces. Learn more about these women’s cinematic significance at a presentation by the Phoenix Art Museum League, where film teacher Fred Linch will use clips and discussion to illuminate the film icons’ place in movie history. The presentation is free with museum admission, and a lunch option is available for an additional fee; call ahead to arrange lunch.

>> “Goddesses of the Golden Age of Film” will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Ave. $8-$10 adults, $4 children 6-17. (602) 307-2050 or phxart.org.
