The Nuge. Motor City Madman. Uncle Ted. Whatever you call him, Ted Nugent’s sonic assaults via the Gibson Byrdland guitar, over-the-top onstage antics and firebreathing lyrics in classics like “Stranglehold” earned him a reputation as a manic guitar slinger and one of rock’s most ferocious figures. These days, the musician is as well known as an avid outdoorsman with his own hunting, fishing, trapping and shooting show on the Outdoor Channel, radio show host, political conservative and author of three books: “Kill It and Grill It,” “God, Guns, & Rock ‘N’ Roll” and “Ted, White, And Blue: The Nugent Manifesto.”
>> Ted Nugent will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Celebrity Theatre, 440 N. 32nd St., Phoenix. $35-$60. (602) 267-1600 or www.celebritytheatre.com.
