Rydell High’s most famous graduating class is going back to school, and back to movie theaters.
A newly restored version of the hit 1978 musical “Grease” brings the movie to the big screen as a sing-a-long, with lyrics printed across the bottom of the screen and an open invitation to audiences to sing their hearts out.
Limited screenings in select theaters across the nation have seen costumed fans dancing in the aisles, shaking pom-poms for the film’s on-screen pep rally, blowing bubbles to the song “Beauty School Dropout” and waving a yellow handkerchief for the race at Thunder Road.
“Grease Sing-a-long” plays at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Thursday at AMC Esplanade 14, 2515 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix. $10.50 adults, $8.50 children 2-12. (888) 262-4386 or www.greasemovie.com.
