Former Chicago Cubs pitchers Fergie Jenkins and Lee Smith will sign autographs March 28 at the state’s first permanent Cactus League exhibition, “Play Ball: The Cactus League Experience,” at the Mesa Historical Museum.
Autographs will be $15 each and include complimentary admission to the museum.
Jenkins was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991, the first Canadian to be inducted. In 1971, he won the National League Cy Young Award.
Smith racked up 478 career saves. Since retiring in 1998, Smith has served as a pitching coach for the San Francisco Giants and the South Africa national baseball team.
