The East Valley Tribune has learned that an intern working for the newspaper in the spring 2012 semester plagiarized several articles that were published in print editions and online.

The intern, a student at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, no longer submits articles to the Tribune. Her articles have been removed from EastValleyTribune.com, and ASU has been notified.

The Tribune is in the process of contacting the publications that were plagiarized and is also taking steps to increase scrutiny of articles before they are published.

“Plagiarism is a serious violation of our policies and will not be tolerated at the Tribune,” said CeCe Todd, news editor and acting managing editor. “We apologize to our readers and to the writers and publications whose work was plagiarized for this violation of trust and ethics.”

Where's the rest of the story? Arizona State Press dealt with this issue starting on Friday with this girl. Where are the specific retractions of the specific articles? Will the girl be removed from the Journalism program at ASU for plagiarizing, or will ASU, as they so often do, not uphold their own plagiarism policy and let her graduate anyway. Your story needs some more details. You might even point out the misattributed quotes from other sources. Investigate, report back.

That would be Raquel Velasco, who was fired by the State Press. Apparently, to get details I have to go to other newspapers.

Looks more to me like they are covering their asses in regards to actual stories that they fear may get them sued, and used her as a scapegoat. Since they don't give specifics, they can pull anything out of the hat if needed, and claim it to be one of the plagurized stories. My bet is they have to do with the spraying of Malathion in our neighborhoods, the massive Fluoridation of our water supply, the GWEN towers that are in every Gilbert Schoolyard and every 1/2 mile or so, which are not CELL towers because they are not registered with the FCC. These are very dangerous and are not put up for good reasons. Or it could possibly be something about the 15 cameras on every traffic light at every intersection in Gilbert, when Gilbert does not use photo enforcement. Doesn't anyone wonder what those cameras and towers are for? Wake up, it's a preemptive CYA maneuver.

Arizona Press the woman began Friday solved the problem. When withdrawal of specific products? http://vizioe701i-a370.blogspot.com/2013/01/VIZIOE701i-A3.html ASU journalism plagiarism wife will be deleted from the program, or, as they often ASU alumnus
