NEW YORK - Kristin Davis spilled the beans about the upcoming season of "Sex and the City": The clothes will have a retro look.

Attending the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards Monday night, the actress wouldn't reveal any plot twists of the HBO show's final season, which begins later this month. But she was happy to talk about the wardrobe.

"Charlotte (Davis' character) will be having a bit of a '60s moment, sort of Elizabeth Taylor-inspired," said Davis.

Will she keep some of the costumes when shooting wraps?

"Oh yes!" the 38-year-old said. "Well, not the samples we have to return, but everything else."

For the CFDA awards, though, Davis appeared anything but retro. She wore a black gown by Julien Macdonald that had a plunging neckline trimmed in red sequins.

Meanwhile, Davis' "Sex and the City" co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker, went through four different dresses as host of the fashion awards.

Parker announced the creator of each dress as she appeared on stage during the gala at the New York Public Library. Her outfits included a polka-dot dress by Carolina Herrera, a black spaghetti-strap dress by Calvin Klein, a dress made of nude-colored netting by Vera Wang and a rose-colored dress by Oscar de la Renta that featured a jeweled pin on her hip.

The big CFDA winners included Narciso Rodriguez for womenswear, Michael Kors for menswear, Marc Jacobs for his Marc line of accessories, and newcomers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, who design the Proenza Schouler collection.
