'The Color Purple' comes to Valley stages

A woman named Celie finds the strength to triumph over adversity in “The Color Purple,” a Tony-nominated musical is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker and Academy Award-winning film by Steven Spielberg of the same name. Its Grammy-nominated score features gospel, jazz, pop and blues.
