Earlier this week, in making plans to attend the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show with girlfriends, the invitation was extended to the men in our lives.

2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday in downtown Tempe
This fourth annual event leading up to the Great Arizona Beer Festival on March 3 draws several hundred brew lovers, who make four stops on their tour: Dave’s Electric Brew Pub, Gordon Biersch Brewery, Canteen Modern Tequila Bar and Robbie Fox’s Public House. Admission is $10 and includes a T-shirt bearing the beer festival logo, food and drink specials, and prize drawings at each location — including one pair of tickets at each stop to next weekend’s big beer event. Chandler Classic Car and Hot Rod Show
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Chandler
More than 250 vehicles built before 1980 are expected at this family friendly show. In its ninth year, the event features music, arts and crafts booths, food and beverage vendors, police and fire displays, and a zone just for kids. Admission is free. Cigar, Beer and BBQ Festival
4 p.m. to 10 p.m. today at 1464 E. Williams Field Road, Gilbert
Gilbert’s Fox Cigar Bar hosts this inaugural 21-and-older event inside its bar, patio and parking lot. Four Peaks Brewing Company will be there with four limited edition beers brewed just for the occasion: The Robust Porter, Winter Wobbler a.k.a. Rye Wine, Russian Imperial Stout and Bourbon Barrel Kilt Lifter. An expanded selection of Four Peaks beers will also be on tap. You’ll also find stogies from four cigar makers and heaping plates of barbecue. A country and classic rock band supplies live entertainment. Tickets, $25, are available at the door and include a pint of any Four Peaks brew, a plate of food and four cigars. Or, you can go a la carte, paying only for what you want as you go.
