Here’s an outing I’m itching to organize with the little people in my life: a Phoenix Mercury game.
With fast-paced action on the court, a co-ed Hip Hop Squad, and Scorch — the team’s dancing, dunking, kid-hugging mascot — it makes a high-energy evening in the cool air-conditioning, even if you’re not the most rabid of basketball fans.
It’s affordable, too. Lower-level tickets start at $10, and the Merc offers a variety of ticket bundles, from a $50 family four-pack with snacks, to a $19 ticket, hot dog and soft drink meal deal. A $45 “Dad & Daughter” pack, available for every Friday game this summer, includes two lower-level tickets and a post-game picture on the court.
DETAILS >> 7 p.m. Friday against the Minnesota Lynx. US Airways Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix. Home games are also scheduled for June 20 and 23; July 7, 10, and 13; Aug. 19, 23 and 25; and Sept. 1, 12, 14, 16, 21 and 23. Tickets start at $10; a Family Fun Pack, with four lower-level seats and snacks, is $50. (602) 379-7800 or www.comeplayatourhouse.com.
