If Schnepf Farms’ springtime Peach Festival is boisterous, think of winter’s Peach Blossom Celebration as its more mellow cousin.

Open Thursdays through Sundays all month long, the celebration is a chance to visit the farm before the plump peaches of hotter weather beckon the multitudes to the Queen Creek agritainment farm.

Instead of crowds, cooking demos and carnival rides, you get peach blossoms. Blankets of the delicate, papery flowers cover the orchards in pink and white, making for postcard-pretty — and free — walks between the rows.

Orchard tours are also available via 13-minute train rides ($3) or 20-minute hay rides ($5) guided by farmer Mark Schnepf or another farm hand.

Round out your visit by picking your own veggies from the organic garden ($1.50 per pound) or stopping by the petting zoo. Food and gifts are available at a country store and bakery, and a country breakfast is available 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays from the farm kitchen.

DETAILS >> 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, through March 4. Schnepf Farms, 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road, Queen Creek. Free admission; prices for food and gifts vary. (480) 987-3100 or www.schnepffarms.com.
