If you get a hankering for a cheeseburger from Joe’s Farm Grill on Wednesday, you’ll have to move fast.

The airy, retro eatery in the middle of a shady grove will give out 4,000 free lunches from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to mark its fourth anniversary and say thank you to customers.

Last year, the restaurant served more than 5,500 people. A similar crowd, waiting in a line that snakes out the door, around the building and down the sidewalk, is expected for Wednesday’s deal, which includes a hot-off-the-grill cheeseburger, French fries and a canned soda or bottled water. There’s also a table full of trimmings — lettuce, tomato, onions pickles and condiments — to deck out your burger.

To get the free meal you must be in line by 3 p.m. No phone orders will be taken. The restaurant will not serve breakfast or dinner on Wednesday, but will be back to its normal operating hours and menus beginning 8 a.m. Thursday.

Joe’s Farm Grill has been featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” It uses produce from a 12-acre urban farm right outside its front door.
