“Red”: This Tony Award-winning play pictures life in artist Mark Rothko’s New York studio as he works on a giant commissioned work for NYC’s Four Seasons Restaurant. Rothko’s young apprentice questions his views of art, creativity and commerce as they work. A portrait of an artist’s ambition, this play was the most honored of the 2010 Broadway season. It contains mature language.

DETAILS >> Show runs through May 20. Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe St. $32-$62. (602) 256-6995 or www.arizonatheatre.org.
