OFFICIAL TITLE: Proposed amendment to the Chandler City Charter by the City Council as adopted by Resolution No. 4621 by amending Article II, Section 2.01, Subsection (d) Term of Mayor; and Article II, Section 2.01, Subsection (e) Limitation of Terms; and Article II, Section 2.01, Subsection (f) Elections.
DESCRIPTIVE TITLE: This amendment changes the term of office of mayor from two years to four years; changes limitation of terms for office of mayor from four consecutive 2-year terms to two consecutive 4-year terms, and limits the incumbent mayor from serving more than 8 consecutive years as mayor.
A “YES” vote shall have the effect of amending the City Charter to change the term of the office of mayor from a two year term to a four year term; change the limitation of terms for the office of mayor from four consecutive 2-year terms to two consecutive 4-year terms, and limit the incumbent mayor from serving more than 8 consecutive years as mayor, and other conforming changes.
A “NO” vote shall have the effect of retaining the current City Charter language regarding the term of office for mayor and imitation of terms.
