"In November 2011 the citizens of Mesa's District 18 voted and recalled a very powerful Arizona politician. It marked the first time in Arizona history that a state legislator was removed from office.
The voters sent a loud, clear message that they were done with "politics as usual". Their decision says that the time had come to move forward into the 21st century and leave behind the atrocious policies of the past.
I've been operating a small business that includes many customers in Mesa. Since SB 1070 became the law its negative impact has been felt throughout Mesa. I believe in secure borders and in putting undocumented immigrants who desire to be citizens on the path to citizenship.
The children of Mesa families are at a horrible disadvantage because of a lack of vision for their futures. The educational standards of our public schools must be raised. Our young people need the right tools and resources to make their dreams a reality. They are the future.
As the general election of 2012 nears I'm confident that the voters of District 25 will continue to look ahead to the future and elect a representative whom they can trust and has their best interests at heart as well."
