"I am a first-generation American invested in our community because our community has invested in me. Growing up, I witnessed first-hand how public investment can transform a family marginalized by our economy into a productive and contributing family. Thanks to hard work and the help of our public institutions, I was fortunate enough to receive a college education at ASU and I now lead a county-wide nonprofit.
I am running for office to strengthen the resources that will provide opportunity to future generations of our community. To provide more Arizonans with the necessary opportunities, we must fully invest in education, economic stability and public safety.
The hard work of families will tragically amount to nothing if our children are left to compete in unequally funded schools and families are left to fend for themselves under the debilitating costs of emergency room healthcare. By investing in our communities with strong public schools and 21st century workforce training, my running mate Andrew Sherwood and I will work to attract the right businesses to provide our citizens with the right job opportunities, which ensures that we all succeed."
