"My name is Justin Olson. I was born and raised in Mesa where my wife, Karyn, and I now raise our six children. I became passionate about public policy years ago when I learned of the future facing our country. If we do not change course soon, by the middle of this century, middle-income taxpayers will pay 65% of their earnings to fund government expenditures. Our country will not remain strong and free if citizens must work more than half of each year just to pay the tax collector.
In 2010, I was elected to the Legislature promising to champion low taxes, fiscal responsibility and economic growth. Through the efforts of many of us that campaigned on these priorities, the state has made great advances. We balanced the state budget with no new debt or tax increases. We passed historic tax cuts that have increased Arizona's competitiveness as a great place to work and to raise a family. We must continue these efforts. We must pay down our debts and prepare for the future. We need to continue to support pro-life efforts, pro-Second Amendment statutes, and policies that are pro-traditional family values. I will continue to advance these conservative reforms."
