"Sen. Steve Yarbrough has lived in Arizona since 1963. He graduated from Phoenix Union H.S. in 1965 and earned his bachelor's degree in finance from ASU with high distinction in 1968.
He was a Rockefeller Foundation Graduate Fellow in University Administration in 1970-71 and received his law degree Magna Cum Laude from ASU in 1971.
From 1971-75 he was an administrator and legal advisor at ASU and taught business law at MCC from 1975-77.
He has practiced law in Tempe and Chandler since 1972. He was a board certified family law specialist.
Married to Linda, a teacher, since 1968, they have three adult sons (two are East Valley police officers) and eight grandchildren.
He has served in the legislature since 2003. He has chaired the House Ways and Means, House Ethics, and Senate Finance Committees and was House Speaker Pro Tempore 2009-10.
He served on a high school board from 1981-2005 and is CEO of a large scholarship awarding charitable organization in Chandler.
In ten years he has never been absent during 1614 days of session. He has an unparalleled record of casting 6154 of 6156 roll call votes.
