Steve Chucri was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona and his family has a long-standing history in Arizona. His grandfather, Tony M. Coury, Sr. was born in 1911 in Morenci and as a young man started his own car business in downtown Mesa which remained in the family for over 70 years.
Steve graduated from Brophy College Preparatory and later received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
Steve married his wife, Christine, 13 years ago who he met while working on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Today, Steve and Christine have two young boys and are active parishioners at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Steve Chucri currently serves as President & CEO of the Arizona Restaurant Association (ARA), a position he has proudly held since 2002. Under his leadership and tireless work ethic, the ARA and restaurant industry in Arizona have enjoyed a substantial growth in sales. In fact, this year alone, Arizona’s restaurant sales are expected to reach more than $9.8 billion in sales adding valuable dollars to Arizona’s local economy.
As President and CEO of the ARA, Steve Chucri represents business owners and sees firsthand how the actions of local, state, and federal governments can impact restaurants and other small businesses in Arizona.
Chucri’s experiences as a businessman, husband, and father give him invaluable insight into the needs of his community and ensure that, as County Supervisor, he will always put people before politics.
