It’s been an honor serving the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board since 2008. Gilbert Public Schools is a reputable and outstanding school district with great students and passionate exceptional teachers, staffs, and administrators. Student learning is my passion and focus because every child deserves a quality education. With the budget reductions over the past few years, GPS had made challenging decisions while maintaining the quality of education. It’s important that school board members focus on student learning and not let the challenging economy and political interferences hinder our focus. GPS completed many accomplishments under my tenure, such as, the opening of our 5th high school (Campo Verde), creating a strategic plan, implementing a new teacher evaluation process, implementing a new common core curriculum, receiving a district A grade for GPS with 18 schools achieving an A grade, and much more. As we move ahead, I am looking forward to implementing the strategic plan and seeing those plans flourish as our priority is always exemplary student education. I fully support the reauthorization of the GPS Budget Override that is on the general election ballot. This reauthorization is extremely important to continue the quality education that GPS provides to our students. On a personal note, I am married with three children. All my children attend(ed) Gilbert Public Schools. My eldest daughter graduated from Mesquite High School. I have one son at Campo Verde High and one son at Ashland Ranch Elementary. I have 20+ years of work experience in accounting in higher education which is aligned with my fiduciary responsibilities and passion for education as a governing board member. By working together as a governing board and with GPS employees who all have the same objective for student learning and quality education, GPS will continue to be the best school district where families want to send their children to school. I am passionate about providing quality education to all students and appreciate your continued support.
