I was born in Panama and lived in Florida, California and Arizona. I am a daughter of an Air Force Lt. Col. My journey into therapy and teaching started as a volunteer in high school as a camp counselor at a handicapped camp near my home. I moved to Tempe, Arizona 27 years ago after graduating from high school in the White Mountains of Arizona.
My educational pursuits took me to earning a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy and going onto becoming board certified in this area, and with further study I became a Neurologic Music Therapist. After completing my bachelor's degree I started teaching music at all grade levels and areas as well as becoming a Vision Therapist and went on to pursue a Masters of Arts in Special Education from Chapman University. I taught at different grade levels in Special Education while I pursued another Masters of Arts degree in Administration Supervision from the University of Phoenix.
I have two sons, 8 and 12. My husband serves in the military so we try to enjoy every moment we have between each military event. I am the unit leader for the FRG (Family Readiness Group) for my husbands military unit, where I help create events, fundraisers, and provides support for soldiers and their families during deployment. Both my husband and I love to travel and explore historical sites.
In my free time I am a Den Leader for my sons' Bear den and volunteer at my youngest sons' school. I enjoy staying active, being involved in our local government and being part of what happens within our community.
I am passionate about...

- Rigorous academics with teaching strategies that meet the students needs
2. Fiscal Responsibility

- Sharing of resources
3. Safety for our students
- Developing sound programs and procedures to deal with bullying
- Securing campuses; making sure all security systems are meeting the needs of each campus.
