Julie Smith

Julie and her family have lived in Gilbert for the past 10 years. She and her husband, David, are the proud parents of four beautiful children.

Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition. She previously worked for the VA Hospital system as a clinical dietitian. Her current profession is being a mom to her children.

Julie is an active community volunteer in healthcare, politics and education. She has volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul free medical clinic and is currently a volunteer at the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Julie is active in politics serving as a precinct committeewoman and precinct captain for the Legislative District #22 Republican party. She has volunteered in the schools serving as classroom mom, organized school fundraisers, health fair screener and science fair judge. Julie has been advocating for students, parents and tax payers at Gilbert Public Schools board meetings for the past two years. She recently served on the Gilbert Public Schools Community Budget Committee.

- Increase the percentage of tax dollars allocated for education to classroom instruction

- Provide a competitive, quality education without increasing taxes

- Improve district communication with students, parents and the community

- Protect a parent’s right to direct the education of their children

- Improve Gilbert Public Schools District governance transparency
