1939 Lincoln Zephyr
A true gem: A 1939 Lincoln Zephyr that was owned by Pete Golightly, a former longtime serice manager for Thorobred Chevrolet in Chandler, will be among the 100-plus cars on display at the Thorobred Thunder XIII All-Chevy Car Show at Thorobred Chevrolet in Chandler on Saturday. Golightly passed away last year before the car show, and this year, his wife is putting his car on display. This Zephyr has a small-block Chevy engine in it. Ah, memories of my brand new 1964 Corvair Monza. That's the one I owned until the warrantee expired. Reason being; a cracked piston, a burned rear wheel bearing (on the way to my wedding). It was then I surmised that Americans could not build small cars, and decided I'd either buy an American car or a small car, but not both!
