The 53-member La Forza Chamber Orchestra will present a free concert on Friday, September 21, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be in the Valley Presbyterian Church, 6947 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley, Arizona (one block west of Scottsdale Road).
The concert will be in the church's sanctuary on the south end of the campus. Parking is also free in the large lot south of the sanctuary.
The orchestra will led by Music Director, Frank Darmiento. Featured with the orchestra is internationally acclaimed Steinway piano virtuoso, James D’Leon. (www.jamesdleon.com) He will be performing Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 5, The Emperor” with the orchestra. Dr. D’Leon performs throughout the United States and internationally. This is a rare opportunity to hear an international performing artist at a price you can afford (FREE)!
The orchestra will also perform the exciting overture to “La Gazza Ladra” (The Thieving Magpie) by Gioacchino Rossini. This is one of the first classical pieces to feature the snare drum.
Rounding out the program will Mr. Darmiento’s “Symphony No. 2: Life in a Place Unknown.” It will be the premier performance of the entire, four movement piece.
