The Grand re-Opening of the 2012-2013 season of the Scottsdale Street Fair at Pavilions at Talking Stick will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7.
Coming off an extremely successful debut year in 2011, the free weekly fair promises to deliver an even more exciting season, welcoming an array of live entertainment, an expanded children’s fun zone, unique artisan vendors, crafters and delicious food.
"It's a fun and entertaining weekly event for Valley residents," said owner Shari Columbik. "It was important for us to structure the fair so that it would give back to the community, allow local performers their chance to shine and feature different charities every week".
Special appearances for the Grand Opening include the 2012 Arena Football Champions, The Arizona Rattlers, The Sidewinder Dancers and their mascot, Stryker D. Rattler. They will all be available to sign autographs and take photos with fans alongside their Arena Bowl Champion Foster Trophy. The Rattlers will also feature a mini interactive football clinic where children can interact with the players.
Pat McMahon, Emmy Award winning television and radio personality, will be on hand to sign the "Star-Studded Celebrity Media Cookbook" on sale at the fair, benefiting the House of Broadcasters Museum.
The fair provides an opportunity for local and visiting artists to showcase their products, art, jewelry, unique clothing and home novelties. Live entertainment includes performances by local bands and musicians throughout the day in addition to a performance from the Baton Boosters Association.
Mom and Dad will love the improved kid’s entertainment zone featuring four bounce houses, hamster balls, swing ride and a zip line.
New to the fair this year is an opportunity for your charity, business, family or social group to host an event. Contact Shari at: 480-330-9500 for further information.
The fair, located off the 101 and Indian Bend, is held every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
