You are invited to help prune rose bushes in the public garden at Mesa Community College on Saturdays during January and February, beginning on Saturday, January 8th, 2011. The Public Rose Garden is a community garden run and administered by volunteers primarily from the Mesa-East Valley Rose Society. Over 9,000 rose bushes grace the garden plus two AARS National Test Gardens. We meet at 8:30 am for a brief meeting and refreshments. At 9am Consulting Rosarians will demonstrate the proper method of pruning for those unfamiliar with the process. Usually we prune until around noon. Please bring gloves and pruners. If you have loppers, please bring those too. We hope you will join us for this worthwhile work. We guarantee you will have a good time while you help maintain the largest rose garden in the Desert Southwest! For further information, contact Mickey Kundrat, mickey1042@gmail.com.
