Barro’s Pizza, Arizona’s number one family owned and operated pizza restaurant, will be collecting non-perishable food items at all East Valley locations for the United Food Bank through Dec 25. Customers that donate two items will receive two dollars off any large or extra-large pizza. Bring in four cans? Customers will receive two dollars off another large or extra-large pizza purchased, and so on.

According to the United Food Bank, Arizona is tied as the worst state in the U.S. when it comes to child hunger, and fifth worst for overall food insecurity. The Barro family wants to help with this problem and hopefully collect enough food during a time that the food bank and the families that it provides for, needs it most.

The most needed items for collection are:

·         Canned Meats

·         Canned Vegetables

·         Boxed Stuffing

·         Packaged Mashed Potatoes

·         Other holiday fixings

They are always looking to fill the food bank with the following items as well:

·         Cereal

·         Chili con Carne or Beef Stew

·         Beans

·         Canned Vegetables

·         Milk

·         Canned Tomato products

·         Rice & Pasta

·         Meat & Meat Alternatives (Tuna, peanut butter)
